The Cloud Daddy Leadership Team offers the AWS community over 125 combined years of experience in the cloud, cybersecurity, software, and technology services space. Our team is passionate about supporting enterprise customers of all sizes, public and private, across hybrid cloud environments as they merge their existing corporate and cloud computing ecosystems.
Our mission is to share our cloud security expertise to provide worldwide users with the most secure, intuitive, and effective data backup, restoration and disaster recovery strategy offered in the AWS Marketplace.
CEO – Spencer Kupferman
Spencer Kupferman brings over 20 years of experience as a savvy software operating executive and a demonstrated track record of success to the Cloud Daddy Executive Management Team. As the Chief Executive Officer of Cloud Daddy Spencer oversees the strategic direction of the organization and Cloud Daddy’s position as the world’s most secure backup and disaster recovery solution for AWS.
Before joining Cloud Daddy, Spencer served as President & CEO of Global Software, Inc. (now named insightsoftware) the global leader in enterprise resource planning (ERP) and enterprise performance management (EPM) reporting solutions, Spencer spearheaded the revolution of the Spreadsheet Server platform as it took the market by storm. Spencer’s parallel track of customer and employee centric philosophy and unwavering commitment to innovation and results led him to successfully realign the company’s strategy and transform Global Software, Inc. into the worldwide market leader. Spencer led the company through 2 successful nine-figure Exits to market leading Private Equity firms, Thompson Street Capital Partners and TA Associates (2016 & 2018 respectively).
Spencer also serves as an Executive Advisor for Thompson Street Capital Partners portfolio companies working closely with their tech-enabled software practice and mentoring CEO’s and other Senior Management executives who are entering their first Private Equity experience. Spencer currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors for TSCP portfolio company, Ithaca, NY-based Palisade Company, LLC, the author of the world leading @Risk Decision Analysis platform.
Spencer holds a Master of Business Administration degree in Technology Management from the University of Phoenix ’03 and a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from the University of New Hampshire ’96 where he was a member of the Men’s Basketball Team.
Spencer Kupferman joined Cloud Daddy, Inc. as Chief Executive Officer in May 2019, and serves as a member of the Board of Directors.

President and Chief Product Officer – Joe Merces
Joe is a talented and seasoned executive with over 30 years of extensive experience in cloud services, information technology, cybersecurity, and data communications with a diverse background in both private / corporate as well as public sector settings.
Joe formerly served as CIO of the New York City Law Department, the world’s largest public sector law firm, where he oversaw all infrastructure, set technology strategy and service delivery across the agency which spanned 18 offices throughout all 5 boroughs of New York City. Joe was responsible for all aspects of information technology, information security, network operations, administration, technical support, and application services.
Previously, Joe served as Vice President of Product Management for Premiere Global Services where he was responsible for the global product portfolio of cloud messaging solutions and service lines of business serving over 80 percent of the Fortune 500 globally as well as the strategic technology initiatives and investments made and produced through internal research and development efforts. His major contributions at Premiere were focused on building, delivering and managing cloud-based service technologies in the areas of workflow, collaboration and business process automation. During his tenure with Premiere Global Services, Mr. Merces also served in an executive role as Vice President of Product Development where he managed domestic and offshore development teams and served as Vice President of Broadcast Services.
Before joining Premiere Global Services, Joe served as COO of two industrial electric motor manufacturing companies, Continental Electric and Industrial Electric, which was subsequently sold in 2000, and prior to that, worked for AT&T and AT&T Bell Laboratories serving in multiple capacities as a Member of Technical Staff as well as Product Management and Marketing.
Joe holds 3 patents in data communications, is a graduate of Stevens Institute of Technology, where he received a Master of Science degree in the Management of Technology and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Kean University.

VP of Marketing – Amy Collier
Amy Collier comes to Cloud Daddy with a wide breadth of technology industry expertise. Prior to joining Cloud Daddy, she spent 10-years at Global Software, Inc (now insightsoftware). Her tenure there started in 2008 as Marketing Events Coordinator, where she managed 50+ events per year. Two years later, she was promoted to Manager, Corporate Marketing Strategies where she was responsible for all aspects of the marketing program, including brand management, demand generation, and scaling the department. In 2016, Amy became Director, Marketing Communications & Strategy, presiding over the transformation of Global’s Spreadsheet Server brand and the subsequent acquisition of Atlas for Microsoft Dynamics. In 2018, she was appointed to VP, Worldwide Marketing. She led the marketing team through two successful exits to market leading Private Equity firms, Thompson Street Capital Partners and TA Associates.
Prior to Global Software, Amy served as Unit Marketing Specialist and Marketing Communications Specialist for international enterprise food and beverage company, Sodexo, working at strategic accounts such as Capital One, USAA, and Dell.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing and a minor in advertising from Virginia Commonwealth University. Amy is currently enrolled in San Francisco-based Bloc UI/UX/Product Design and Frontend Development Apprenticeship. She has earned certifications from the American Marketing Association, Google AdWords/Analytics, Hootsuite, and HubSpot.

VP of Engineering – Jon Chappell
Jon is a software engineering executive with a 30+ year proven track record of successful cloud service delivery. He has broad and deep expertise in both product and enterprise applications development, for on-premise and cloud-based solutions in financial services, health care and telecommunications services industries.
At OSG Corp., Jon has served in varied lead and hands-on engineering roles, helping clients deliver solutions on short timelines. Prior to OSG, Jon served as Vice President of Development at Odyssey Services, leading engineering efforts for general and client-specific custom cloud messaging solutions. This included primary responsibility for software engineering and client-services solutions, as well as significant advancements in product development and production deployment.
Before joining Odyssey Services, Jon served as Senior Vice President of Development and Engineering at Premiere Global Services where Jon led teams in the development of email, voice, SMS and fax communications cloud based Software-as-a-Service. This included delivering scalable, extensible core messaging services that supported thousands of client companies and hundreds of custom applications worldwide.

Henry Bayard – Easylink/OpenText
Henry Bayard has over 30 years of practical experience in messaging services. Mr. Bayard is currently employed at OpenText Corporation. Mr. Bayard has held management positions in product management and strategic account development at ITT, Western Union and AT&T. Mr. Bayard is an account manager supporting Fortune 500 client using OpenText’s Business Network cloud services. Mr. Bayard has the financial industry through his involvement in the BAFT-IFSA financial forum. He has held various positions in the forum, including board member. He is currently the Chairman of the BAFT-IFSA Supplier Committee.
Henry Bayard graduated from Marist College. He has attended Polytechnic Institute and the graduate executive management program at Carnegie Mellon.
Ron Kupferman’s reputation as a visionary in the enterprise software industry dates back 45 years when he founded Global Software, Inc. in the early 1970’s. Over the course of his wildly successful career in technology enabled platforms Ron has been viewed by his peers as a true pioneer in the field. With vast knowledge and expertise in operating software companies, in both SaaS and on-premise environments, Ron has incubated and scaled multiple software ventures. Ron’s wisdom has been sought by the world’s most successful tech organizations, including Hathaway Corporation (NASDAQ: HWYI) Former Board of Directors, Warwick Insurance Group (NASDAQ: WIMI) Former Board of Directors, Knowledge Systems, Inc. Ron graduated from University of Rhode Island with a BS in Accounting and served in the United States Marine Corps.
Leonard Gangi - QualSecure
Leonard Gangi is a business executive who is owner and principal consultant of QualSecure, a professional services consultancy for information technology, cyber security certifications, six sigma quality and business risk management initiatives.
A highly accomplished leader with significant and diverse business experience, Mr. Gangi earned his B.S.E.E. from NYU and has multiple professional accreditations for his information security, project management and quality program knowledge. His career spans operational and executive responsibilities within Fortune 500 companies as well as leadership positions within entrepreneurial (start-up) endeavors.
As a business and technology management professional with extensive leadership achievements, Len has a passion for inspiring technology teams that facilitate Product Management and Development, Professional Services, Quality Management (Six-Sigma), Network / Computer Operations and Customer Service.
Len's technical interests include Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), Multi-Factor Authentication, Data Encryption, Business Continuity and Disaster Response Planning.

Thomas Smith - IEEE
Thomas Smith has over 25 years of experience in product and project management. Mr. Smith is currently employed at IEEE. Mr. Smith has held management positions in product management and project management at ITT, Western Union, AT&T, Xpedite Systems, Arkadin Inc., and IEEE. Mr. Smith is presently the IT Portfolio Manager for Information Technology, including responsibility for Information Technology Governance within IEEE. Mr. Smith has previously been involved with developing collaboration platforms, including application integration.
Thomas Smith graduated from Western Maryland College. He is a certified ScrumMaster.
